The Humans
By Stephen Karam
Directed by Glynnis O’Donoghue
September 26 - October 13 at Armour Street Theatre
As the holiday season approaches, one of the most acclaimed plays in recent memory arrives to remind us that family gatherings aren’t always easy. In The Humans, Stephen Karam documents the distinctly present-day Blake clan as a symbol of the disappearing middle class, with millennial children facing struggles their parents never faced while the parents also witness their promised safety vanish before them. Bound by love but consumed by a gnawing sense of dread, the Blakes meet for Thanksgiving dinner in New York City at one of their greatest moments of crisis.
