SUMMER CAMPS FOR YOUNG ACTORS
Enriching Creativity and Skills
DCP offers an array of summer camps each year for our young actors ages 4-16. Half-day camps have fun themes and popular titles from Disney, TV, and hit movies! Participants can also act, sing, and dance their way into our full-day musical theatre camps featuring all the best Broadway has to offer. We also offer exciting partnerships with local businesses, like the Dungeons and Dragons gaming group Young Dragonslayers.
DCP summer camps enrich the school experience by fostering creativity, communication, collaboration, confidence, cultural understanding, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and life skills. Being exposed to theatre education empowers students to become well-rounded individuals who are better prepared to succeed in an increasingly diverse and complex world.

Campers will delve into horror acting techniques, learn how to do eerie makeup and startling special effects, and bring their sinister skills to life in a chilling final performance that will leave audiences howling for more… or running for the exits! Have you ever wanted to be on the big screen? On Netflix? Anchoring your local news show? In this fast-paced pre-professional intensive, students will have a chance to work with current industry professionals and working actors (whose credits include Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple TV) to explore the craft of acting specifically for the screen. From being on camera to the intricacies of marketing materials to proper audition technique, this crash course is designed for individuals serious about immersing themselves in the TV/Film industry. Throughout the week participants will workshop scenes, participate in mock auditions, tape in front of the camera, and deep-dive into industry standard marketing materials -- all of which will prepare for a showcase to end the week!
This intensive is led by a working actor and screenwriter, Josie Juliette Wert (JTA Talent Agency). Josie has trained across the United States; The Working Actors Group (Atlanta), Broadway Artist Alliance (New York), Catapult Acting Studios (Atlanta), The Actors Lab (Los Angeles & Charlotte, NC) and has recent credits including Sugarcane, a SAG AFTRA feature film currently in post-production; If Only, a SAG AFTRA film that went to Cannes International Film Festival; and a series regular role on No Rest For the Wicked which was distributed on Amazon Prime.

Campers will perfect their acting, vocal, and dance skills as they bring Seymour, Audrey, and the infamous Audrey II to life. From funky choreography to classic songs like “Suddenly Seymour” and “Somewhere That's Green,” you’ll work on your performance skills and design costumes for the show. By the end of the week, you’ll put on a hilarious and slightly terrifying showcase for family and friends!

Campers will hone their acting, dance, and vocal skills as they explore the iconic songs and characters of Hamilton. From “My Shot” to “Helpless,” you’ll learn choreography, sing your favorite tracks, and create costumes. At the end of the week, you’ll perform a show-stopping presentation for friends and family!

To be or not to be? This Summer, you will be! Step into the world of Shakespearean drama in this exciting Teen Shakespeare Theatre Intensive! Whether you're a seasoned performer or new to the Bard, this camp will help you develop acting skills, master classical text, and bring Shakespeare’s words to life with confidence and creativity. Performers will explore acting techniques for Shakespearean performance, understanding and performing classical text, voice, movement and stage combat, scene study, and monologues. Actors will develop a final showcase for family and friends!
