Stand-up Comedy

Monday nights from 5:30 - 7:30 pm
“Who do you think you are, some kind of stand-up comedian?”
If you’ve ever answered “yes” or “…maybe…?” to this question from in-laws, we finally have an adult acting class for you!
In Stand Up Comedy, your instructor will facilitate interactive, workshop-style class sessions that cover the core principles of writing and performing stand up comedy. Over an 8-week term, participants will:
Learn the different styles of comedy, joke structures, and laugh triggers
Discover processes for writing and testing comedic material
Practice and perform in class for feedback
Develop the fundamental skills to perform a live set
CLASSES MON 5:30-7:30PM: Classes will occur once a week beginning Sep 16 and ending Nov 18. There will be 8 total classes with 2 off weeks at the discretion of the instructor.
EXPERIENCE: No experience necessary; beginners may inquire prior to enrollment by emailing steve@davidsoncommunityplayers.org.
REFUND POLICY: Class tuition will be refunded in full up to 7 days prior to the class start date. Refunds will not be granted after the deadline.
